I grew up in Diamond Bar, California--the eldest of a family of 8. My mom taught me to read around 4 or 5 and since then I'd read anything I could get my hands on.
Writing came next. I published made-up magazines, proudly displayed them on my dresser in my room and would charge my brothers to come in and play video games on my Sega and Nintendo. Free magazines were provided for their reading pleasure, of course.
Glad they still love me!
Fast forward, I graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.A. in Political Science. Then from USC where I earned a JD. I never realized how much of a creative I was until I attended law school. I didn't fit in at all, lol. The school was great, but I was suffocating. It felt like the creativity was being sucked right out of me. I tried to describe that to my boyfriend at the time. I don't think he understood. My big take-away from Law school-- I realized I didn't want to argue for the rest of my life.
I now have a family of my own whom I adore, two cats--don't know how that happened, and I've finally come to terms with my happy place--writing! Now that I've caught the bug I have no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Get in touch with me if you’ve got any comments, questions, suggestions, or just want to say hello. I’d be more than happy to hear from you.
